Highly sought-after Riom mint issue.

The leaf beneath the bust corresponds to the privy mark of the mintmaster Jean-François Costes Dumesnil, while the clover on the reverse is that of the engraver Jean Vilat.

Very low mintage: only 1,998 pieces struck.

Coin classified R4 in the Gadoury Blanc reference work on Royal coinage.
