    Second document signed Alex. Lameth

Alexandre-Théodore-Victor, Count of Lameth, known as Alexandre de Lameth, was a French general and politician of the Revolution and the Empire. Born in Paris on October 28, 1760, he passed away there on March 19, 1829.

In November 1789, he participated in the founding of the Society of the Friends of the Constitution and Liberty alongside Mirabeau, Robespierre, La Fayette, Pétion, Barnave, and Duport. This society would later become the famous Jacobin Club.

Under the Consulate and the Empire

Upon his return to France in 1800, he held several administrative positions. He was appointed prefect of Basses-Alpes on 23 Germinal Year X, then prefect of Rhin-et-Moselle on 12 Pluviôse Year XIII. He later served as prefect of Roer from May 3, 1806, and then of Po from February 12, 1809.

In recognition of his service, he was granted the title of Baron of the Empire on February 14, 1810, and received several honors. He was made a Knight of the Legion of Honor under the Consulate (Year XII) and was later promoted to Officer of the Order on July 16, 1811. Additionally, he became Maître des requêtes at the Council of State.
