Hubert Ponscarme (1827–1903) was a French sculptor and medallist, regarded as one of the great innovators of medal art in the 19th century. A pupil of David d’Angers, he introduced a freer, more expressive style that broke with academic rigidity. His medals and portrait reliefs are sought after today for their finesse and modernity.
