Description:

Superb medal with a beautiful collector’s patina.

Satirical medal listed in Histoire des Monnaies Satiriques by Christian Schweyer, classified as type K (pp. 381–383). Two variants are known:

Type K1, struck in Brussels and produced exclusively in silver.

Type K2, restruck in Stuttgart by the Wilhelm Mayer company, made in silver, copper (or gilt copper), or brass.

The present specimen corresponds to the K2 variety in brass, of which the reference work records only a single known example.
