  • Pedigree :

Coin from the Luzarches Mill Hoard.

The seigneurial watermill known as the Moulin de Bécherel, or Moulin de Luzarches, has been mentioned since 1230 on the Ysieux River, northeast of Luzarches, near the road to Hérivaux.

In the 16th century, it was described as a “banal” mill, meaning that the inhabitants under the lord’s authority were required to have their grain ground there, thus ensuring an economic monopoly for the lord. A hoard of 730 silver coins of Louis XIV and Louis XV, buried around 1718, was discovered at the Luzarches watermill.
