Very ccarce quarter ecu with hammer strike. Great thicknesses for the planchet. hammer strike is equivalent to mechanic strike. “II”  bigger. Fleur-de-lis at 12 o’clock.

Made by the Mint master “Monnaie de Paris” by Louis de Lacroix. Very famous for nice struck coins by hammer and in direct competition with Jean Warin with mechanical strikes . The Famous Louis d’or à la croix de templier was made by Louis de Lacroix.

Very low mintage with 5442 examples ( included others varieties and 1/8 d’écu ).

It’s the second example found in archives. Only one example in a private collection.
