Exceptionally rare Eloi Pernet magnifying glass made from a Louis XV écu struck in Lille in 1730 (mint mark W).

Magnifying glasses from this manufacture are already uncommon, but examples made from royal écus are particularly rare on the collectors’ market.

According to information provided by its previous owner, this magnifying glass accompanied him for many years during his flea-market searches. More than a simple collector’s item, it was a genuine tool for expertise and observation, regularly used to examine object details, hallmarks, signatures, and the condition of the pieces encountered.

Specializing in manicure and pedicure instruments, toiletry accessories and precision tools, the Eloi Pernet workshop became renowned for the quality of its craftsmanship. It is also known for its original creations made from historic coins, nail care tools, magnifying glasses, letter openers, tape measures and travel accessories which today occupy a unique place at the crossroads of fine craftsmanship and numismatics.

This item comes from an important private collection dedicated to the work of Eloi Pernet.
