    Julien Poinssot,  full name Julien Henri Albert Poinssot, born May 16, 1844 in Dijon and died June 8, 1899 in Paris, He is a French jurist and archaeologist, a pioneer in the exploration of ancient North Africa. He is the father of archaeologist Louis Poinssot and grandfather of archaeologist Claude Poinssot.
